In June of 2009, my youngest daugher had a baby shower. One of my lovely sisters made her a personalized diaper bag with the name of her soon to be son embroidered on several items. Diaper bag, bib, and burp. In seeing the name she had chosen she immediately started to cry. This is where my inspiration began.
After his birth in August, check him out...I began my planning stages of what would make a new mom happy. Then I purchased a super duper embroidery/sewing machine and off I went. I made some personalized bibs for friends at work, although they were my testers, the response was so heart felt that I found myself wanting to create more and more projects. The photo's I received of their little one's wearing the bibs I made was more than thank you to me.
I'm in the process of searching out different organizations that I can make things for and one's that have a real need. A very dear friend of mine has a special needs young adult that needs to be fed, and using a baby bib is just out of the question - so I'm on a mission of designing an age appropriate covering for her and hope to do several personalized one for their day care center. I'm also looking at nursing homes.
So, that's my inspiration story, and I'd love to hear yours. Please comment and I'd love you to join me on facebook for your story (whenever that gets fixed.. I got over excited and it disappeared)!
P.S. I'm in the process of building an online store, and will be adding things as my creative juices flow. Some initial items will be: custom personalized bibs, burps, diaper bags, and totes. I know the competition is fierce out there in the online shopping world, but if one of my designs brings smiles and joy to you or who the gifts are purchased for, I'll be happy. I'll need products that are unique and at a cost everyone can afford in todays economy. So my mind is whirling with idea's.
Thanks go out to my encouraging friends and sweet daughter for helping with my new blog.
God Bless,
Maureen
