Well, I'm preparing for a first for me. Yep, a Newsletter! I'm going to be initiating a Newsletter for my website. Now, it won't always be about sales and promotions, but we'll have lots of those. I'm going to be doing give aways. Yep, you read that right. For all that sign up, I'll periodically announce when it will happen and then use a web program that randomly selects a name and then I'll notify them. The item I choose will be something you will be able to either keep, or give as a gift. If it's a "personalized" item, you get to choose the embroidered personalization. I'm excited about that one.
P.S. Something important. I will never sell or give your information out. Privacy is important to all of us.

You may see something different happening here
I've been so busy with getting my websites up and running, I've been neglecting posting in my blog and face book pages. The year 2011 is going to bring lots of changes to it all.
I am going to be adding new things like Recipe's that I've tried and will hopefully make your mouth water enough to try your hand at them; some "How to" instructions for making a variety of crafts, as well as some interesting computer skills I've been learning; and adding links to some pretty fascinating sites.
During the next week or so, I'll be redesigning my blog template and gathering my thoughts for my future posting (Yikes)! Oh, and redesigning my sewing room. My DH is going to give me a real studio for Christmas, so I'm very excited about the planning of that!
Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful and Safe New Year.

A Touch of Class for Babes
I think I'm most excited about how these little hats will look on little girls. I started the crochet project and just couldn't put the hook down until it was completed. I hope you like the pictures. I think these will even look adorable on "Tweens". So, on to trying my hand at making them in different sizes. Thank you George for jumping on my band wagon.

News Flash - Nana G Creations Goes Live!
The time has come to take Nana G Creations Live! Roll out is tonight at 7pm, so please drop by and spread the word for me. I'm really excited to finally have finished the up-front work, and now can concentrate on creating those memories.
I have to thank my Hubby for his support and tolerating my "Leave me Alone" attitude during the process, my children for the lack of time spent with them (I sure miss that), and all my encouraging, pep talking friends and family that have kept this dream of mine going.
Thanks Again!!! Don't forget to sign my Guestbook when you visit.

I'm starting to get real excited!
I've been so busy with making things for my new website. Unfortunately, when I'm in the middle of a project or order, I get an idea for something new. I've been trying to write everything down right when the thought comes to mind so I won't forget. Problem is, I've written some things on scratch pads (didn't have my journal at the time), and find that I've lost the pads! Oh well, the idea came to me once, so I'm sure they'll come back. LOL
I hope you all like my newest additions to Nana G's. You can click on the pictures to see the names close up. Let me know what you think.

Owie Bags
Another newbie. This fun owie bag replaces those extreme measures you go through of crushing ice in a baggie, wrapping that in a towel so it's not bitter cold for your little one to put on their boo boo's. These bags are 5 x 5, double layered for durability and filled with rice. They can be kept in the freezer (in a ziplock bag), or for a warm compress (ear aches, headaches, etc) you can microwave them "carefully" for 15 second intervals...you definately don't want to create a new dinner dish of steamed rice in an owie bag! Will post the other says I've done shortly.

Vacation Over - time to get busy
I came back from my Cali trip to find I now have 92 friends on my facebook. Yahoo. Several of my fellow artisians at Art Fire have joined in and I'm hoping that more will add me to their sites for promotion. I'm always looking for new followers to my blog, so don't be shy... I'm so glad that I will have a full 3 day weekend to finish up on my own website (http://www.nanagcreations.com/). I'm pushing myself to have it ready to go live by Tues. the 7th, but it depends on how many DH interruptions I get LOL. I've been preparing all kinds of sweet baby shower sets, and I'm even attempting some Tie Dye pieces. Gotta have something for everybody right?

I had good intentions!
I certainly had good intentions on keeping this blog updated, but time just gets away from you when you're having fun. I've been busy with creating, learning new techniques and researching all the wonderful informative sites on the internet. I'm looking into the selling aspect on Etsy, Hyena Cart, and Art Fire right now, not to mention getting my thoughts together for my own personal website.

Inspiration Story
I'm so glad you found me! Everyone has an "inspiration story" on how they began their venture. Here's mine.
In June of 2009, my youngest daugher had a baby shower. One of my lovely sisters made her a personalized diaper bag with the name of her soon to be son embroidered on several items. Diaper bag, bib, and burp. In seeing the name she had chosen she immediately started to cry. This is where my inspiration began.
After his birth in August, check him out...I began my planning stages of what would make a new mom happy. Then I purchased a super duper embroidery/sewing machine and off I went. I made some personalized bibs for friends at work, although they were my testers, the response was so heart felt that I found myself wanting to create more and more projects. The photo's I received of their little one's wearing the bibs I made was more than thank you to me.
I'm in the process of searching out different organizations that I can make things for and one's that have a real need. A very dear friend of mine has a special needs young adult that needs to be fed, and using a baby bib is just out of the question - so I'm on a mission of designing an age appropriate covering for her and hope to do several personalized one for their day care center. I'm also looking at nursing homes.
So, that's my inspiration story, and I'd love to hear yours. Please comment and I'd love you to join me on facebook for your story (whenever that gets fixed.. I got over excited and it disappeared)!
P.S. I'm in the process of building an online store, and will be adding things as my creative juices flow. Some initial items will be: custom personalized bibs, burps, diaper bags, and totes. I know the competition is fierce out there in the online shopping world, but if one of my designs brings smiles and joy to you or who the gifts are purchased for, I'll be happy. I'll need products that are unique and at a cost everyone can afford in todays economy. So my mind is whirling with idea's.
Thanks go out to my encouraging friends and sweet daughter for helping with my new blog.
God Bless,
Maureen
